We are at least somewhat familiar with Pythagoras regarding his geometric theorem about triangles, but he also developed the musical scale and the modes of theory that we still use today. In this lecture, Manly Hall discusses the difference between poetry and music, mainly that music is more universal and poetry requires no special skill beyond language. He goes on to discuss the healing properties of music and all the arts in a therapeutic application. As he so often does, Mr. Hall emphasizes the importance of having a harmonious, balanced Inner Life as the key to moving through the world in a more successful way. Also he makes the connection between motion and emotion - both must be in harmony, in rhythm and in tune with the Infinite.
