This video features woodpeckers, Wood Ducks, and Indian Peafowl, filmed and photographed on January 24, 2026, as part of my ongoing birding, photography, and videography projects. A highlight of the outing was capturing a Cedar Waxwing, a personal lifer I had been searching for over the past year. From a technical standpoint, this video places greater emphasis on building visual scenes, including the use of b-roll such as footage of the Irvine Park Railroad and the duck pond, along with more deliberate framing and attention to bird behavior. The goal was to create a more cohesive and engaging finished piece while continuing to develop skills in both field capture and storytelling. As of this video, my 2026 Birding Big Year total stands at 112 species, toward a goal of 300. This video reflects an ongoing learning process, including both field capture and post-production workflow.
