The characteristic features include the powerful proportions, wheel arches with almost square contours and the design of the front and rear that is typical of BMW X models. With its upright front section, the new BMW X1 clearly gains in presence. It is characterized by flat LED headlights, a large, almost square BMW kidney grille, X-shaped lines extending outwards and eye-catching chrome clips in the lower air intake. Adaptive LED headlights with matrix high beam, pulsating direction indicators and variable light distribution are optionally available. Expressively modeled surfaces and a long roof line characterize the dynamically stretched silhouette of the new BMW X1. From the rear, horizontal lines, the flat pane of the luggage compartment lid, striking LED lights and flared wheel arches create a typical SAV impression. The robust charisma of the new BMW X1 can be emphasized particularly intensively with the specific design features of the xLine model, which include an optical underbody protection. The M Sport model is also available as an alternative to the basic equipment, which, among other things, sets the tone for dynamic driving pleasure with large cooling air openings. All model variants have 17-inch light-alloy wheels as standard. 18-inch light-alloy wheels are part of the equipment scope of the xLine and M Sport models, for which 19-inch and – for the first time for the BMW X1 – 20-inch wheels are also available. There are two plain and ten metallic variants to choose from for the exterior paint finish, including a frozen paint finish from BMW Individual for the first time. Interior: Progressive ambience, space that can be used in a variety of ways. The raised seating position and the progressive premium ambience in the style of the BMW iX contribute to the characteristic driving experience in the interior of the compact SAV. Central elements of this redesign are the flat dashboard, the BMW Curved Display, the armrest with an integrated control panel that appears to be floating and the indirectly illuminated smartphone system in the front area of the center console. The newly developed seats are optionally available in perforated Sensatec or Vernasca leather. There is also a choice of sports seats, electric seat adjustment with memory function, lumbar support and a massage function. In addition to acoustic comfort, occupant protection has also been optimized. The integrated concept for passive safety now also includes a new interaction airbag between the driver and front passenger seats. The rear of the new BMW X1 offers three full seats with noticeably increased seating comfort. The rear seat backrest, which can be split 40:20:40, can be tilted and folded down to expand the luggage compartment. The longitudinal adjustment of the rear seats, which is available as an option for the models with pure combustion engine drive, ensures even more variability. The storage volume can be expanded from 540 to up to 1,600 liters. A trailer hitch is offered as an optional extra, which for the first time in the new BMW X1 swings in and out at the push of a button and is electrically operated. BMW iX1: A new era of driving pleasure in the compact SAV. The BMW iX1 xDrive30 is the brand's first all-wheel drive electric vehicle in the premium compact segment. Two highly integrated drive units on the front and rear axles together generate a power output that, including a temporary boost, amounts to 230 kW/313 hp. The system torque is 494 Nm. The electric all-wheel drive ensures superior traction, directional stability and driving stability in every situation. The BMW iX1 xDrive30 accelerates from a standing start to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. The fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology also includes highly efficient charging technology with charging software that has been further optimized in the same way as the BMW i7, and a high-voltage battery arranged flat in the vehicle underbody, whose high energy density enables a range of 417 to 440 kilometers.
