I share my first impressions, wander through bustling bazaars, try traditional Kurdish food, and connect with the locals to learn about the Kurdish way of life. Iraqi Kurdistan is home to the Kurds, one of the world’s largest ethnic groups without an independent country. This region offers a welcoming atmosphere that defies many stereotypes about Iraq. 🛣️ What's in this video *First Impressions of Erbil: I dive into the heart of the city, uncovering its rich history, culture, and the warmth of the Kurdish people. *Qaysari Bazaar: Discover the bustling bazaar where locals gather, and I experience the generous hospitality that Kurdistan is known for. *Trying Kurdish Food: From falafel sandwiches to kebabs, I try traditional Kurdish food for the first time and experience the unique food culture. *Jalil Khayat Mosque: Upon arriving, I find out the mosque is closed; but, with a little patience, I manage to get in after all - ending up having this beauty all to myself! *Public Transport in Kurdistan: I make my way to the Erbil garage and show what it’s like to travel around Kurdistan using public transport, giving you a glimpse into how locals get around. *Akre: I travel to Akre, one of the most scenic towns in Kurdistan, tucked away somewhere in the mountains.
