"The vocal-instrumental group SCUOLA DI CANTO MEDIEVALE was formed in 1977 around a few people, coming from different choral experiences, who wanted to tackle the research and study of musical forms of the Middle Ages, especially those of the sacred and religious repertoire. The group currently consists of nine elements with mixed voices and five instrumentalists who use period instruments such as: bombards, flutes, lute, viella, harp, psaltery, portative organ, various percussions. The repertoire covers a historical period from the 12th to the 15th century and includes sacred and religious monodic and polyphonic music as well as secular pieces."
