Here's a drum solo in the style of one of my favorite drummers, the great Gene Krupa. In this solo, I attempt to use some of the phrases and techniques I've talked about in various videos I've made about Gene. This is one of several videos that I filmed a few years ago, but never got a chance to post. I thought they were lost and I only recently found them. Since today is Gene Krupa's birthday, I thought it was a good day to post this video as a little tribute to Gene. I'll be posting the other videos soon (so far I've found one about George Wettling and one about Jake Hanna). Obviously I can't play like Gene, but hopefully my love for him and my admiration of him come through.
