Orchids with root burn - problem solved!

Time to make an update on my root burn situation that I've dealt with in the past months. Something about it just doesn't agree with how I grow my orchids. The surface roots that dried faster than the potted roots suffered some major burn damage. However things are starting to grow normally now, though I seem to still have residue on sheaths and root stumps that simply act like a sponge and accumulate salts. I now think I need to properly flush, soak and rinse my pots thoroughly, it isn't enough to just stop using the product. Regarding the kelp fertilizer, it would appear that letting the container draw air isn't a good idea, as the kelp will mold. For this reason I needed to buy a new one and try to use it less frequent. I cannot say this fertilizer gives stellar results, but it has only been one month and I am willing to give it more time. One thing is for sure, it did not burn ANY root. The test root received 550 ppm every day for a week in fast drying conditions.
