In Episode 5, I finally tackled the foundation of the car: brakes and suspension. We ditched the factory rear drums, swapped in Integra rear disc brakes, upgraded to longer studs, modified the trailing arms, and fought the parking brake routing without fully dropping the tank (wouldn’t recommend, but it is possible). Up front, things escalated quickly. A “simple” bushing and sway bar job turned into broken studs, new control arms, a full sway bar battle, trimming bushings to fit a thicker bar, and aligning the suspension by pure vibes because I don’t own an alignment rack. The front brakes were the one win — same bolt pattern, just a bigger caliper. Stainless braided lines, fresh fluid, proper torque, and suddenly this 37-year-old CRX actually stops like it should. It wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t fast. But it’s finally drivable, and that’s a massive win.
