Our Tour of the National Tropical Botanical Gardens, in Kauai HI

My wife and I did an amazing tour of these two gardens. Learned some rich history of the sugar cane industry and two of the influential non-Hawaiian families' impact on what Kauai is today. We walked away with a profound appreciation for how these gardens are used to provide preservation of species and the contributions some of these plants have on medicine. One species of a Vinca plant was used to make four compounds that treat cancer. The coolest part was seeing places throughout the gardens used to film many hit movies like Donivan's Reef and Jurassic Park. I got some still shots, short clips for your viewing. The tour was well worth the price and is a must do for anyone visiting Kauai!
