Dr. Latoya Watson explores the persistent disparities in education and the systemic factors that contribute to them. She discusses the impact of historical policies on education inequity, emphasizing the importance of shifting from deficit-mindedness to equity-mindedness in higher education. Latoya Watson, Ed.D., M.P.A. is a scholar-practitioner who conducts research in systemic change and education equity. She has over 20 years of experience in higher education and education policy. She currently serves as Sr. Assistant Dean for Co-Curricular Coaching in the College of Arts and Sciences at University of Delaware. She also conducts workshops and conference presentations to empower attendees to lead change in their lives and others.
