What I was most anticipating and curious about on this Three Gorges journey was the experience of taking a public passenger boat. The route from Badong to Wushan was a slow and convoluted journey. It began with a small white boat to the Xiaoxihe Dock, followed by a car ride to a mountain village for a rest. Then, I transferred to a rural bus to the Peishi Dock, finally boarding a small red boat bound for Wushan. Perhaps I was lucky, as a fine rain began to fall. The sky was overcast, and layers of damp mist, stirred by the wind, drifted between the mountains and over the water. And there, deep within the clouds and rain, I finally arrived in Wushan. In my imagination, Wushan was the mist-shrouded fairyland from Song Yu's verses, a lofty and poetic ideal. But when I actually set foot in the city, I discovered it was far more than a frozen literary symbol or a historical backdrop. It possessed an immediate, undeniable vitality. This vitality first comes from its physicality. Wushan is a city thrust vigorously upward by great mountains and a mighty river. Its buildings climb the steep slopes layer upon layer. This powerful three-dimensionality imbues Wushan with an inherent boldness—a tenacious vitality, carved out from a precipitous environment. Yet, what is most touching is the thriving human energy that flourishes beneath this natural grandeur. The streets of Wushan are lively, even somewhat noisy, but this bustle is filled with the texture of real life. On the commercial streets, you can see many young people and parents with their children out for a stroll. When school ends, the crowds of parents gathering at the gates create a rather spectacular scene. And the people of Wushan are the soul of this vitality. They are warm, friendly, and possess a natural approachability. Perhaps because our cultures are similar, being around them gave me a strong sense of familiarity and a constant feeling of warmth. It was then that I understood the true source of Wushan's charm. It does not live in the poetry of the past, nor through the lenses of others, nor in some imagined realm above the clouds. Instead, it exists in the solid steps beneath your feet, in the vibrant life that greets you at every turn, and in every ordinary, yet warm, daily moment. B站主页:https://space.bilibili.com/593971360
