"South kashmir's Pulwama district will be hub of producing tulip bulbs soon, as the successful experiment bloomed 1 lakh tulip bulbs this year at CSIR IIIM field station Bunura. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine Field Station Bunra Pulwama has been producing tulip bulbs for the past three years. Around one lakh tulips have bloomed in the field station this year. Kashmir Valley is famous all over the world for its natural beauty. The waterfalls of the valley, lush green forests and vast plains here attract tourists from all over the globe. In valley the Asias largest Tulip garden, Bagh-e-Gul Lala, is located at the beneath the Zabarwan hills, attracting lakhs of tourists worldwide. This year, in (Bagh-e-Gul Lala) Tulip garden, about 1.5 million tulips of more than 74 tulip varieties bloomed, and is visited by millions of tourists. These tulips, which are imported from foreign countries, are now being taken up by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine Field Station, Bunura, Pulwama, under the Floriculture Mission, for the last three years, to produce these tulip bulbs in the valley itself, which will benefit the government as well as the farmers at large. An experiment was conducted three years ago at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine Field Station, Bunra, Pulwama, as a research project, regarding the germination of tulip bulbs, which was successful, and now the bulbs required for growing tulips will be prepared here, although this was used as a first experiment at the field station, from where the researchers at the field station found that tulip bulbs can also be produced here and the weather of Jammu and Kashmir, especially Kashmir, is very suitable for it.
