This is my third major stand-up comedy video, and in this one, I discuss something deeply personal. As a brown person in a brown country, it is almost absurd to be subjected to racism and colorism. And that absurdity is the basis of this set. When I was working on this set, I had met my niece after a long time, and she had a very unnatural pallor to her skin, so I asked her mother (my cousin), and she told me how my niece was using an over the counter fairness cream, and hence the skin tone. At first I was mad at my cousin as to how she let my niece do something like this, but her helplessness revealed a much larger danger and a collective failure as a society, where we are actively propagating colorism. Right from birth, we have a colour palette to rate attractiveness, and then everything from our relatives to popular culture reinforces the idea that a certain skin tone is beauty. And even the most educated and woke friends of mine believe that skin tone is related to beauty( which clearly is not the truth.) So this video is just venting out of that frustration. Well, I also discuss turning 30 and how funnily life changes with friends, family, and relatives once you reach this milestone, even something as simple as birthday celebrations. So if you like the video, please like share, and comment. and also subscrip to @jugaadish Instagram - / jugaadish #standupcomedy #indianstandupcomedy #bangalorestandupcomedy #fair&lovely #darkhumor #indianmiddleclasslifestyle #Indianstandupcolorism #RacisminIndiacomedy #Turning30funny #Brownskinjokes #indian racism
