The story of a well-meaning delivery worker struggling with entitled customers and work-life balance. Chinese delivery drivers — like their counterparts around the world — have been feted as heroes for feeding cities during pandemic lockdowns. Yet those in China are particularly vulnerable to labor abuses. Most are young men without college degrees who make less than $1 per delivery. Many work without formal contracts or sign agreements that don't include insurance and social security. Written and directed by Ziyan "Christy" Zheng. See more of her work at her channel, / @ziyanzheng04 . Studio 70, a part of The Smith Family Conservatory at The King's Academy, is directed by Mr. Austin Parenti, Mr. Tim DeMoss and Mr. Philip King. Christy Zheng is currently a junior in the digital arts/film program and produced this short film in 2020 to educate viewers of the plight of Chinese delivery drivers.
