This narrated video demonstrates locating the natural ostium of the sphenoid sinus, approaching it medial to the middle and superior turbinates. It reviews the anatomy of the sphenoid sinus and why this is the safest approach. It show the placement of a neuropatty in the sphenoid sinus which, when dissecting through the sinuses from lateral to the middle turbinate, then serves as a marker to ensure the sphenoid sinus is correctly identified minimising the risk of inadvertent damage to the skull base, the optic nerve or the carotid artery.
