Singapore expects trade growth of 0% to -2% for 2023

Singapore's trade is expected to see no growth or even dip in 2023, as it comes off a high base this year. Easing demand for electronics trade and exports, as well as lower oil prices in the coming year are also likely to weigh on trade. Enterprise Singapore expects growth to come in flat at best, or shrink 2% for total merchandise trade and non-oil domestic exports. Meanwhile, Singapore has upgraded its 2022 full-year trade forecasts during its third quarter review. That's on the back of better-than-expected performance driven by oil and electronics trade.
