When Fred came to Soteria in 2017, he told us that Soteria was the first place that he met people who were not trying to use or take advantage of him. He was beyond ready to leave his old life behind. Six months later, Fred had excelled through our program, working in our wood shop as an apprentice until we placed him in his career field of choice - hospitality. Since his first day on that first job, Fred has been working in the same restaurant that agreed to take a chance on an employee with a criminal record, and he is thriving.
