DELHI POLICE PRESS RELEASE DESPERATE MEMBER OF GOGI GANG/ DINESH KARALIA GANG WANTED IN THREE DIFFERENT EXTORTION CASES ARRESTED  MEMBER OF GOGI GANG/ DINESH KARALIA GANG WANTED IN THREE EXTORTION CASE ARRESTED  EXTORTION CALLS WERE BEING MADE FROM MALAYSIA AND DUBAI  DEMANDING EXTORTION MONEY FROM BUSINESSMEN OF DELHI – NCR REGION  THREE CASES OF EXTORTION WORKED OUT.  ONE OF THE ASSOCIATES, AJAY STILL ABSCONDING, HIDING IN DUBAI In a significant breakthrough, the Crime Branch, Northern Range-I, has successfully arrested a notorious and desperate member of the Gogi Gang/Dinesh Karalia Gang, identified as Sitender Kumar @ Matru, son of Dharm Singh. He is a resident of VPO Dhighal, Pana Malyan, PS Dujana, District Jhajjar, Haryana, and is 31 years old. Sitender Kumar @ Matru has been actively involved in multiple extortion cases, targeting businessmen across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). He is wanted in cases registered at PS KN Katju Marg, PS Palam Village, and PS Masuri of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The arrest marks a significant step in curbing the criminal activities of the Gogi Gang/Dinesh Karalia Gang in the region. INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION: The Crime Branch team, Northern Range-I, was assigned the critical task of apprehending individuals wanted in heinous crimes, with a special focus on extortion cases. To track these criminals, the team strategically deployed secret informants and mounted technical surveillance. During this operation, crucial manual inputs were received by SI Hitesh Bhardwaj and HC Mandeep, indicating that a key member of the Gogi Gang/Dinesh Karalia Gang, wanted in an extortion case registered at PS KN Katju Marg, would be arriving near Bhagwati Garden Extension, to meet some of his associates. Acting promptly, a dedicated team led Inspector Ajay Sharma, with team members SI Hitesh Bhardwaj, HC Mandeep, HC Vikas Dabas, HC Narender, HC Ravinder, HC Neeraj, HC Akash and HC Azad Singh. The operation was closely supervised by ACP/NR-I Sh. Narender Singh was constituted and executed, under the overall supervision of DCP Satish Kumar DCP Crime & Shri Sanjay Bhatia, Addl.CP/Crime. The team conducted a carefully planned raid at the specified location, resulting in the successful apprehension of Sitender Kumar alias Matru, son of Dharm Singh, a resident of VPO Dhighal, Pana Malyan, PS Dujana, District Jhajjar, Haryana. Initially, the accused had denied any involvement in criminal activities. However, during sustained and methodical interrogation, he confessed to his involvement in various crimes, including extortion cases registered at PS KN Katju Marg, PS Palam Village, and PS Masuri in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. INTERROGATION Interrogation Reveals Organized Crime Operations During sustained interrogation, Sitender Kumar disclosed that he is an active member of the infamous Gogi/Dinesh Karalia Gang. Working alongside his associate Ajay, he was involved in extorting significant amount of money from businessmen in Delhi and NCR. To add credibility and intimidation to their threats, the duo traveled to Malaysia and Dubai, to make extortion calls. Over the last two months, the gang demanded crores of rupees from businessmen in Rohini, Palam, and Ghaziabad. Their targets also included an NRI businessman, based in Dubai. To exert pressure, the gang escalated its tactics by arranging for their associates to fire shots at the residence of the NRI's relative in Ghaziabad. Role of Dinesh Karalia’s Network Accused Sitender further revealed that a relative of the incarcerated gangster Dinesh Karalia, facilitated the hiring of sharpshooters to carry out this firing. This act was aimed at intimidating the NRI businessman located into Dubai, for paying the extortion amount. Use of Fake SIMs and Mobile Phones To avoid detection, the gang procured fake SIM cards and mobile phones for making extortion calls from Malaysia and Dubai. These efforts were part of a sophisticated operation, to evade law enforcement and maintain anonymity. Significance of the Arrest This arrest is a significant success for the Crime Branch, as it disrupts the major extortion racket orchestrated by the Gogi Gang/Dinesh Karalia Gang. The revelations made by Sitender Kumar provide critic Investigations are also being conducted to trace the sharpshooters and the sources of fake SIMs used i Rohini District had earlier caught Naveen @ Sonu brother of Dinesh@Karaila (presently lodged in jail) on 28.12.2024 in the case FIR No. 645/2024 PS K.M.
