In 22 -24 October, 2025, CMO APOLLON and FIM co-organized "Music in the Digital Age", an international forum on streaming and GenAI. Held in "Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre" in the course of three days, artists, industry professionals, legal experts, academics, MPs and MEPs, thinkers and technologists addressed the challenges new technologies pose for artists' copyright and neighboring rights, and explored ways to safeguard the artistic community against the exploitation of streaming and the uncontrollable growth of Artificial Intelligence. How can we ensure sustainable and equitable compensation models in a saturated digital economy? How do we protect creators’ rights when AI systems are trained on their work and competing against them? What role should legislation play in shaping ethical AI and fairer digital markets? Third Day was dedicated to AI. In this crucial panel discussion, moderated by Yiannis Maragoudakis (watch his keynote at • MITDA Forum: AI | Potential Legislative So... ), industry leaders and legal experts including Roberto Mello (ABRAMUS), Konstantinos Christodoulou (University of Athens), Xavier Blanc (AEPO ARTIS), Pál Tomori (EJI), Ben Kessler (American Federation of Musicians), and Marcos Alves de Souza (Brazilian Ministry of Culture) delve into the pressing challenges posed by Generative AI (GenAI) in the entertainment sector. They explore the urgent need for legislative solutions, focusing on key pillars such as transparency, consent, and remuneration, and debate the viability of opt-out systems, the role of collective management organizations, and the necessity of reversing the burden of proof to protect human creativity and ensure fair compensation in the evolving digital landscape. #apollon_rights #musicinthedigitalage #neighbouring_rights
