From Elections to Next Steps - A case study on Moldova | Aspen-GMF Bucharest Forum 2025

In a discussion moderated by Clara Volintiru, Regional Director at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, Natalia Gavrilița, Member of the Supervisory Board of the National Bank of Moldova, shared an optimistic view on Moldova’s European path. She highlighted that the recent parliamentary elections reaffirmed the country’s pro-European choice and showed that resilience, leadership, and determination can counter hybrid threats. Gavrilițan underlined the enduring promise of the European Union — peace, stability, prosperity, and freedom of movement — values that remain deeply rooted in European societies. “It’s very important that we continue people-to-people contacts… to encourage these exchanges in the private sector and in local authorities. This is being done, but it can be scaled,” said Natalia Gavrilița, emphasizing that true resilience comes from cooperation between governments, businesses, and communities.
