Step into one of Cuba's most iconic cigar factories - the legendary La Corona - where tradition meets precision. The torcedora (Cigar Roller) - she meticulously prepares the cigar's filler leaves, wraps them with the capote (binder), and places it into the mold - before it wraps by the wrapper. Filler Leaves: • Ligero - Top-primed leaves that soak up the most sunlight, resulting in thick, oily, slow-burning tobacco with bold strength and body. Seco - Middle leaves offering medium strength, nuanced aroma, and smoother flavor, balancing the blend. Volado - Thin lower leaves prized for excellent combustibility, ensuring the cigar stays lit and burns evenly. Binder ("Capote") - The hardworking layer that wraps the blended filler to bind it together. It provides structural integrity, supports airflow, contributes a touch of aroma, and creates a stable surface for the wrapper Together, the choice and arrangement of ligero, seco, volado, and capote define a cigar's strength, flavor profile, aroma, and burn quality. A rare exception-Cohiba, produced at El Laguito factory - features an added super-rare leaf: Medio Tiempo, found only at the very top of the plant. It delivers an explosive dose of potency and complexity, reserved for only the most prestigious blends of Cohiba Behike.
