How to get to the co mode to adjust your fuel injector mixture for Yamaha fz6

If you have an after market airfilter and exhaust on your Yamaha fz6 bike you can change the fuel ratio to more gas sprayed into the engine to make the engine run better and smoother without having to buy a Powercommander or having to take to a shop to get it tuned by following instructions below. You can tune it yourself by doing First try holding the select and reset buttons on the dash with one hand and turn the key to the on position engine off keep holding buttons till diag mode comes up next let go buttons then press select to get to co mode if that doesn’t work then you will have to ground the yellow/red wire instructions below. till 2004 and newer Yamaha fz6 models this video will show you how to get to the co mode to change how much fuel is being sprayed into the engine by the injectors. My motorcycle that I’m working on is a 2006 Yamaha fz6 and this model I had to ground the yellow/red wire of the clear connector under the fuel take which is a 5pin wire on one side towards the motor and 6 pin towards the ecu. You need to unplug the connector and find the yellow/red striped wire then on inside of connector using a pin needle push up the plastic holding piece that’s holding that wire in the connector then pull the wire out; next plug the connector back together; pull the dust cover up and locate the bolt with ground wire under that cover; take the yellow wire with the red stripe and place it on the ground bolt so that it stays touching the bolt. Then with one hand hold select and reset buttons on dash and other hand turn key to on position engine off then keep holding those buttons till diag mode shows up then press select to get to co mode if that doesn’t work like mine didn’t then still in diag mode turn kill switch to off position then back to run then start bike then kill switch off making engine off then turn kill switch to back on position all while your still in diag mode now press select button which now should turn on co mode if not then turn key off pull key out put key back in hold the two buttons again while turning key on to position till diag mode shows up let go buttons then press select co mode shows up then hold the select and rest buttons to select co mode which will then show co 1 hold both buttons again to select co1 to adjust take a picture or write now the number on the screen mind showed (co1 -16) I then press select button to go up 7 number to -9 next hold both buttons to save settings should go back to only saying co1 press select to change to co2 hold both button to select co2 which my screen said (co2 11) after hold both buttons on the co2 screen next press select to increase the number which I change to (co2 18) then press both buttons to save setting turn key off and take the yellow red wire and put back into connector, so long story short I change the fuel ratio from running lean to running alittle more gas (rich) into the engine to compensate for the after market air filter and exhaust I installed on the motorcycle hope this helps.
