Here is how Kensuke Ushio, the composer, described this particular track: "For a boy, there’s probably no scene more heart-pounding than that one. It starts from this very delicate, almost tangible sense of skin, then gradually builds in intensity until—bam!—it reaches its climax as they dive into the pool. That’s the structure I aimed for. Around the middle of the piece - right about when, in the film, Reze swims toward us through the pool - I arranged for the orchestral harmonies to shift into something influenced by modern Russian piano concertos.
