Join me as I journey along England’s Jurassic Coast, a place shaped by deep time, where I explore how British Muslims can play a meaningful role in protecting the environment, and by extension, our shared future on this planet. From ancient fossils to modern-day challenges, this video weaves together travel, reflection, faith, and environmental action, grounded in the Islamic principles of khilafah (stewardship), amanah (trust), and justice. By working together, caring for the environment and being conscious of our impact we can save the world. This Adventure Will Take Us To: 🌊 Lyme Regis Beach I begin by searching for fossils along this iconic shoreline, reflecting on Earth’s long history and our responsibility as temporary caretakers of a planet that existed long before us, and will exist after us. 🗑️ Quayside Beach Here, I look at the visible impacts of overconsumption and litter, and how our everyday habits (often driven by convenience and excess) directly harm ecosystems. What does Islam say about waste, moderation, and accountability? 🔥 Chesil Beach While cooking my dinner outdoors, I explore the environmental costs of factory farming and animal agriculture, discussing ethical consumption, halal and Tayyib food, and how food choices connect to climate change and compassion. 🛍️ Weymouth High Street I take a walk through town to talk about shopping sustainably, from buying less and buying better, to supporting ethical businesses and resisting consumer culture. 🌊 Weymouth Beach At the water’s edge, I discuss the reality of sewage being dumped into the ocean, why environmental issues are also issues of justice, and the importance of being socially and politically active when it comes to protecting our communities and natural spaces. 🌱 Studland Beach I end the journey with a conversation about hope, why hope is essential in the face of climate change, and how faith can be a source of resilience, action, and long-term vision rather than despair. This video isn’t about perfection, it’s about intentional change, grounded in faith, community, and responsibility. Environmentalism isn’t a “Western trend” or a side issue; it’s deeply connected to who we are, how we live, and how we interact with this world.
