Citadel of The Eternal Calamity - By: ZePlayerSlayer https://www.roblox.com/games/15873244701 Difficulty: Low Unreal Enjoyment: 11/10 Time Taken: 24 hours (not counting another 25 from earlier last year) Thumbnail by @ijisv Yo guys, sorry for being pretty inactive recently but I've just not really been feeling the urge to grind anything in front of an audience right now. This is what I've been working on for the past week or so and I'm pretty happy to have it done now. I started this tower long ago back when it was still in development, before I beat CoIV, and then I didn't really touch it at all (except for a couple of days in 2024), before coming back to it last week. Feels pretty good to finally come back and complete it after all this time. Looking back, I kinda wish I went for this right after my ToSF completion, as this was the final unreal I had left at the time before the slopfest that is the current top 3 was verified. I might still make it a goal to beat every verified unreal, which is a feat I haven't held since 2024 and would be much more impressive in today's standards. For once I like to think I got pretty decent luck on a tower, not as good as the other two victors but it was a really nice breath of fresh air to not fail the very end of a tower 2 million times before finally beating it. Only had 4 fails on the hardest floor of the tower, and 3 of which were on the same jump which wasn't even a hard jump, just had some weird mindblock. However this doesn't excuse the fact that I somehow failed the FINAL STRETCH, which is a notoriously easy section of gameplay compared to the rest of the tower. Admittedly it was definitely my fault for not practicing properly, as I had only alljumped floors 13-16 a few times prior to that point, but it was still quite annoying. And then the very next attempt I messed up on F13 which is another pretty easy floor, but luckily I managed to beat it next attempt. Overall, pretty decent luck, could've been better, but also could've been a LOT worse. This is EASILY my favourite unreal as of right now. I don't even know where to start when talking about this citadel, every aspect is almost perfect and it makes for such an enjoyable experience, despite me being the unluckiest victor by quite a lot. I used to think pretty low of this citadel for the sole reason of it mimicking Citadel of Void's frame, but I honestly think it executed the concept much better than CoV itself. The routing on this tower is pretty much perfect, especially on parts such as the F8 dropper where you're climbing on and below the frame, really makes the tower feel like an adventure and much more immersive than anything else I've played. The spread of difficulty throughout the tower was also done flawlessly imo - if you have the skill to beat this tower then you will probably be making it to F8 every attempt, which serves as a nice difficulty spike, and passing F8 is almost a guarenteed F12 run due to floors 9-10 being very netted, and 11 being a break floor. It makes every run feel exciting before anything has actually even happened because you know you have the potential to get far. F12 is also an amazing floor both atmospherically and gameplay wise, a very well-executed idea of a hell themed hardest floor. I could talk much more about the citadel but I'll save yall the yapfest but just know this tower is incredible. I recommend to everyone as a first unreal tower. Special thanks to ZePlayerSlayer and nxyriia for grinding this with me and helping me with strats, primarily on floor 12. They made this a much more bearable experience as I'm never good at playing stuff alone and finding strats by myself, i find it to be pretty boring most of the time but this was an actual fun experience for once.
