I remember some of my earliest experiences of playing Led's CDs and being amazed by the flying fingers demonstrated on "Ku`u Ipo Onaona." I don't think I ever would have learned to play the song if not for the Homespun Video tutorial that provided a breakdown of the music along with tablature. If you have an interest in learning this wonderful piece I really recommend that you take advantage of that resource, it's still readily available at https://homespun.com/shop/hs_slackkey1. Along with the flying fingers of "Ku`u Ipo Onaona" you'll find the much more relaxed "Slack Key Lullaby" along with even more frenetic fingers doing "Slack Key Medley." I have several videos of this song in my channel but surprisingly none of them are guitar duets with Led, so I'm glad we finally got around to shooting a clip. Even better, we did the video on the shore of Ka `Elepulu, the lovely Enchanted Lake. Led came by for an early morning session so we could take advantage of the subdued light but I'm afraid I'm still figuring out how to take full advantage of my iPhone cameras. As usual Led is playing his vintage Martin 000-16 and I'm using my Composite Acoustics OX, both tuned to taropatch G (D G D G B D from low pitch to high). They are miked up with a pair of Shure KSM141s in omni mode plugged into my Zoom F6. The two iPhone 15s are setup with the BlackMagic Camera app which allows me to remotely control them with my iPad Air - so much capability and the app is free!! I used REAPER to do a little volume adjustment and add a bit of reverb, then went to DaVinci Resolve to create the final video.
