I took a slow 7-day trip through the French Riviera and it was amazing! by train, on foot, and always near the sea. From wandering through Nice’s old town to swimming off Billionaires Bay, here’s how I spent a week along the Côte d’Azur. My Itinerary: Day 1: Land in Nice, train to the Airbnb. Explore Old Town, get lost on foot — best way to see the city and avoid jet lag. Day 2: Train to Antibes. Explore the market for snacks, stop for a local coffee and croissant, then head to the coastal walk starting at Billionaires Bay. If you’re visiting in peak summer, leave early and bring lots of water (and a towel — you’ll want to swim often). Make your way back to the train, stopping wherever looks good for food and dips. Day 3: Villefranche-sur-Mer. Stop at Bakaro for the best pistachio croissant ever. Swim, then walk the coastal path toward Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Be careful — parts are on a busy road. Explore the town, grab something from the patisserie, and end at Paloma Beach before heading back via Beaulieu-sur-Mer. Day 4: Easy Sunday in Nice. Coffee, pastries, the local market (worth it!), and a sunset dip at Castel Plage. Day 5: Eze Village. Take the train to the beach, then hike up (it’s steep, bring water) — or just hop on the bus. Lots of shops, amazing views, and crowds later in the day. Day 6: Menton. Walk around the colorful buildings, stop for a lemon pastry, and spend the day by the beach. If you want to explore more, take the train to Italy (Ventimiglia) for pasta and a change of scenery. Day 7: Back in Nice. I kept it simple — work and rest. If you’re still exploring, check out Monaco, Cannes, Saint-Tropez, etc. Otherwise, do what I did: a quiet sunrise dip and coffee before the city wakes up. 🎧 Expect: coastal walks, bakery stops, sea swims, and small travel tips along the way.
