[00:01:53] The gifts of the Holy Spirit are wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. They are given as baptismal graces and should be understood in relation to the idea of the body of Christ. [00:03:20] The Holy Spirit gifts individuals with different charisms and attributes, but all have access to wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. [00:04:31] Cells in the body of Christ share gifts of the Holy Spirit as one body, but also have specialized gifts called charisms. Similar to the different systems and structures in cells in biology. Analogy of a family can also explain this concept. [00:05:55] God is the father and we are the children. Charisms are specialized chores we do to serve the family, whereas basic roles are shared by everyone. [00:07:10] We have special intentional power for certain roles but we can ask God for greater outpouring of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit. Charisms are not a given but we can still ask for them. [00:08:28] Charisms are not exclusive; anyone can ask for one they are interested in and embrace their role as a child in the body of Christ. We should not fear asking God for what we want as he is not a vending machine. [00:09:26] We should seek the Holy Spirit's gifts regularly and remember they are always available, even if we feel we have lost them over time. As we collaborate in the church, we can trust there is enough space to ask for what we want. [00:10:50] The Holy Spirit gives gifts and charisms to believers, and it's important to identify and cultivate them. [00:11:49] Focus on being docile to the Holy Spirit, whether it's a gift or charism, and allow Him to guide you. The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are meant to be utilized.
