Analysis of MRD data from the ENRICH trial: ibrutinib-rituximab vs R-chemotherapy in frontline MCL
David Lewis, MBChB, PhD, FRCPath, Plymouth University, Plymouth, UK, discusses the findings of an analysis of measurable residual disease (MRD) data from the ENRICH study (ISRCTN11038174), a randomized Phase III trial comparing ibrutinib-rituximab to rituximab with chemotherapy (R-bendamustine or R-CHOP) in patients with previously untreated mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). The results revealed that ibrutinib plus rituximab was superior to immunochemotherapy in this patient population, despite lower rates of MRD negativity in patients receiving the ibrutinib-rituximab combination. This interview took place during the 18th International Conference on Malignant Lymphoma (18-ICML) in Lugano, Switzerland.
