What is Combodart?

Combodart capsules contain two active ingredients, dutasteride and tamsulosin. Both of these act on the prostate gland. Combodart is used to relieve moderate to severe symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia, or a swollen prostate gland. The prostate gland often enlarges with advancing age, pressing on the urethra and obstructing the flow of urine from the bladder. This can cause various urinary symptoms, such as difficulty passing urine. Dutasteride  works by blocking certain receptors, called alpha receptors, that are found in the muscle in the prostate gland. This action causes the muscle in the prostate to relax, which relieves pressure on the urethra and allows urine to flow freely past the prostate.
