“One of the misconceptions about our work is that we are only focusing on women’s issues, but gender equality is really about equality between women and men.” Carlien Scheele, Director of the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), discusses the EU's challenges in achieving full gender equality. She debunks misconceptions about gender equality, such as the belief that it has been already achieved, that it solely concerns women, or that it takes a back seat during times of crises.
