Cleaning lens elements In Leitz FOCOTAR 1:4.5 / 50 This old Leitz FOCOTAR 1:4.5 / 50had a lot of Haze and dust and dirt, but with some cleaning with Hydrogen Peroxide 3% and lighter fluid, it turned out to be very good. When unscrew the retaining ring for the inner lens element, I made a very little scratch on the retaining ring, but NOT on the lens surface. I can cover the scratch with black ink, and then it was fine again. Those accident can happen for everyone, even those who said they never have had those problems! Everybody makes mistakes now and then. This is just to say, that one have to be careful when working with lens tools, and accident can happen!
