Coded Bias in Brazil | Full Panel Discussion

🌎 AJL's #CodedBiasWorldTour reached Brazil – our first South American screening, and the first time we’ve screened the film in a local language! The conversation around AI bias is at a critical point in Brazil, as politicians debate how to use facial recognition technologies in public spaces – including football stadiums. This urgency was palpable in the post-film Q&A session featuring AJL Founder Dr. Joy Buolamwini and Brazilian activist and computer scientist Ana Carolina da Hora. Watch the full video to get Dr. Joy’s insights on the spread of facial recognition technologies, case studies from the United States that can be applied globally, protecting children from harmful AI that targets them, and how AI can be developed with communities in mind.
