We begin in Agashi, where Anthony Rodrigues, fondly known as the “Starman of Goa,” turns his home into a glowing landmark with hundreds of Christmas stars — a tradition driven purely by passion and joy. Travelling south, we arrive at Betalbatim, where Christmas finds its spiritual anchor in a grand community crib. Created under the guidance of Parish Priest Fr. Adriano Furtado, this massive installation — themed around Mother Mary — is the result of tireless effort by over a hundred parishioners working day and night. What stands tall here is not just scale, but shared faith. Further down south lies Malkarnem, a remote village where Christmas décor takes on bold, unexpected forms. From cribs carrying strong social messages at New Waddo to raw, imaginative displays created under a bridge at Devlamol, creativity here breaks convention and speaks its own language. The journey circles back north to Panaji, where a towering Santa Claus near Portais draws smiles, curiosity, and a second look — blending humour, memory, and clever reuse in true Goan style. Together, these stories reveal that Christmas décor in Goa is not about competition or spectacle alone. It is about expression — of faith, of community, of local talent, and of a culture that celebrates with warmth and wit. This is Christmas in Goa. Glitzy. Faith-driven.
