Linocut Printmaking: Episode 4 🎨 (In case you missed Episode 3, here is a link to it • THIS IS ALL THERE IS ― multi block re... i initially uploaded these videos over a year ago but i wasnt satisfied with the result so i took them back down. I was happy with Episode 3 so it stayed up) In this final installment of the linocut journey, I'm excited to share the last steps of a print that was my creative obsession for over three months. For those who've followed the series from Episode 1's initial starting steps, through Episode 2 and 3's carving process and progressive layering, this video brings my multi-block reduction linocut THIS IS ALL THERE IS to its ultimate conclusion. What started as an inspiration from the local cemetery has evolved into a complex, multilayered artwork that pushed my printmaking skills to new heights. Unlike single-block printing, I used three separate linoleum sheets to create depth and detail: one for the central image layers, a second for the nuanced shadows, and a third for the black border that frames the entire composition. You'll get an inside look at the meticulous process of carefully aligning each layer, making precise color decisions, and navigating the challenges of a reduction technique that leaves zero room for error. Each print in this limited edition is a testament to patience, careful planning and a bit of luck. Whether you're a fellow printmaker, art enthusiast, or just curious about the creative process, I hope this video gives you a glimpse into the magic of bringing an artistic vision to life, one carefully carved and printed layer at a time.
