Today marks Day 3 — the final day of oral arguments in Norway’s Supreme Court case involving Jehovah’s Witnesses, widely known as “The Price We Pay.” On this final day, Watchtower’s defense counsel concludes arguments, the State responds, and the justices close the public phase of the case. No ruling is issued today. From here, the judges retreat to private deliberations, with a written decision expected in the coming weeks. This case is not about banning a religion. It centers on whether state registration and public funding can be extended to a religious organization whose own policies impose severe consequences on those who leave — particularly children and young people.
