Too Late for Tears - Through a fluke circumstance, a ruthless woman stumbles across a suitcase filled with $60,000, and is determined to hold onto it even if it means murder. Too Late for Tears (1949) Director: Byron Haskin Writers: Roy Huggins(screenplay) Stars: Lizabeth Scott, Don DeFore, Dan Duryea Genre: Crime, Drama, Film-Noir, Mystery, Thriller Country: United States Language: English, Spanish Also Known As: Killer Bait Release Date: 17 July 1949 (USA) Duration: 100 min Filming Location: MacArthur Park, Los Angeles, California, USA Storyline: One night on a lonely highway, a man in a speeding car tosses a satchel of money meant for somebody else into Jane and Alan Palmer's convertible as they are heading down a mountain road to a party. When they open the satchel and see what's inside, Alan wants to turn it over to the police, but Jane, with a life of luxury now within reach, persuades him to hang onto it "for a while." Soon afterward, the Palmers are tracked down by one Danny Fuller, a sleazy character who claims the money is his. To hang on to the cash, Jane will need to exercise all her feminine wiles, even if it leads her to dangerous circumstances and criminal behavior. Reviews: "Based on a clinging, suspenseful, well-characterized script by Roy Huggins, Too Late for Tears was made on a fair-sized budget in 1949 by former top M-G-M producer, Hunt Stromberg. Although filmed at Republic, it was released by United Artists. Primarily a vehicle for Lizabeth Scott who makes the most of a typical role as the seductive but ruthlessly deadly, stop-at-nothing femme fatale, the movie also features the extraordinarily beautiful Kristine Miller and our old friend, Dan Duryea, whose initially brutal, leering criminal surprisingly becomes more sympathetic once evil-to-the-hilt Scott really sharpens her claws on him. Oddly, the movie plays better in its DVD transcription than it did in first-release cinemas 60 years ago. Two reasons: (1) The movie has been expertly shorn of 7 or 8 superfluous minutes to enhance the pace; (2) director Byron Haskin's reliance on close-ups to put across the many wordy dialogue scenes works far more effectively on TV than it did in cinemas. The constant image of forever smiling, vulnerable-looking, ice-cold Scott weaving her nocturnal, spiderous webs certainly places Too Late for Tears (an inappropriate title) into the noir category."-Written by JohnHowardReid on IMDb.com Also Known As (AKA): (original title) Too Late for Tears Brazil Lágrimas Tardias Canada (English title) Too Late for Tears Canada (French title) Too Late for Tears Denmark Ingen vej tilbage Finland On myöhäistä itkeä France La tigresse Greece (transliterated title) Poly arga gia dakrya India (English title) (reissue title) Killer Bait Italy È tardi per piangere Japan (Japanese title) (festival title) 遅すぎた涙 Mexico Lágrimas tardias Norway For sent for tårer Portugal Lágrimas Tardias Romania Prea târziu pentru lacrimi Serbia Kasno je za suze Slovenia Prepozno za solze Soviet Union (Russian title) Слишком поздно для слез Spain Demasiado tarde para lágrimas Sweden Med berått mod UK Too Late for Tears USA (reissue title) Killer Bait USA Too Late for Tears West Germany Der blonde Tiger ···················································································· FOLLOW US! ✘ Twitter - / artflixtv MORE MOVIES! ► Film Noir: https://bit.ly/3yP7UR2 ► Classic Movies: https://bit.ly/2VhJRN2 ► All Playlists: https://bit.ly/2AsmqTR #classicmovies #filmnoir #oldmovies ···················································································· COPYRIGHT: All of the films published by us are legally licensed.
