Discomfort isn’t all the same — and treating it like it is can be harmful. In this video, I talk about the difference between discomfort that leads to growth and discomfort that causes damage. The kind that stretches you versus the kind that erodes you. We’ve all heard advice like “push through,” but that assumes you’ve already learned how to set boundaries, read your body, and tell fear apart from harm. Many of us haven’t. I share how I think about discomfort as two distinct signals: Fear — often sharp, activating, and tied to growth or change Weight — heavy, draining, and meant to slow you down or redirect you This isn’t about avoiding discomfort altogether. It’s about learning how to listen to it, instead of overriding it in the name of productivity, healing, or being “strong.” If you’ve ever ignored your own signals because you thought discomfort was just the price of progress, this one’s for you.
