Flying with United Airlines from Los Angeles, USA (LAX) to Denver, CO (DEN) This video is a flight report onboard United Airlines 737-900 that displays the new protocols and the norm that it is to fly during a pandemic. This is my first flight with United Airlines. 2020 was a very difficult year for all of us and this is flight report will showcase what it is to fly with the new norm. It was my first flight during the pandemic and it was a very different experience. Getting to LAX at 6pm with no traffic was a very different experience that I remembered. The airport gave this eerie feel without the usual amount of cars, horns and people walking everywhere. Thankfully this resulted in a very quick TSA check in under 5 minutes and I was on the other side. Masks are required everywhere in the airport, and onboard the aircraft. Social distancing is also expected to be maintained, but of course sometimes that doesn't happen. Boarding was much orderly than before. The airline would call in Rows of 5 or 10s and board everyone in a spaced out manner. Sure it took a little bit longer than before, but at least it wasn't a chaotic experience. The aircraft was extremely clean and the smell of rubbing alcohol lingered in the air. Sanitizing wipes were provided twice during the flight and the overall cleanliness of the airplane was great. The smell of the alcohol was so strong that I thought I was going to choke, but within a few minutes it became the norm. We had slight turbulence out of LAX but overall the cruise was fairly uneventful. We were provided with an onboard snack bag as the traditional catering and drink service has been suspended for an undetermined amount of time. My only complaint of this flight is the lack of seat back entertainment. It seems like American and United are pushing the idea of bringing your own device for entertainment.
