Terrell Silver sentenced in 4 Cleveland murders: 'I did not commit any of these crimes'

Terrell Silver will spend the rest of his life in prison after he was recently found guilty on murder charges in the deaths of four people -- including a pregnant woman -- which happened in Cleveland more than five years ago. Prior to learning his sentence, Silver offered a statement to the court in which he denied any responsibility for the murders. “I would like to start by addressing the surviving family members of the victims," Silver said. "From the top to the bottom of my heart I sincerely send my condolences. I can’t, I will not apologize for these charges. I’m not responsible for them. I did not kill those people or anyone else for that matter. But what I will apologize to you for is for everything you’ve all been through throughout this process. No parent should have to bury their child. I’m a father myself. I have an 8-year-old daughter. No family member and no friend should have to experience their loved ones being discovered in the state of decomposition they were found in." He also questioned the process, saying the prosecutor "has a duty to get a conviction." "This is a perfect example to demonstrate to you all that this was not about justice," he said. "First and foremost I did not commit any of these crimes.” Authorities say it was between Sept. 7-21 in 2019 when Silver shot all four victims at a residence where they were staying near East 144th Street and Kinsman Road. All four victims were laying down on two mattresses on the floor at the time of the shooting, according to the prosecutor's office. Silver fled the scene.
