█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█▀█ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ [Synopsis] In this video, I use PCEM to build a Intel 486 DX-33 machine with a MS-DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.11 operating systems. The Intel 80486 was a April 1989, and it discontinued in 2007. In the PC world, the Intel 80486 was used as late as 1996. When Windows 95 came out, the 486 became obsolete. In the MS-DOS world, it could run just about any program. The most common operating systems the 486 used was MS-DOS 5.0 to 6.22, Microsoft Windows 3.0, Microsoft Windows 3.1, and Microsoft Windows 3.11. Some of the higher end 486s, like the DX4 100 Mhzs did have Windows 95 on it. They came in 4 forms, SX, DX, DX2, and DX4. DX4 was the latest model, and the DX was the first model. Back in the early 1990s, 486s were considered to be high end computers, and they were expensive. That is until the Pentium 60, 75, 90, and 100 Mhz computers came out in the mid 1990s. Those processors were more suitable for a 32 bit operating system, like Windows 95. The 486 DX could run Windows 95, but when you tried to play games on it the performance was aweful!
