Sacramento assault victim dies nearly two months later; suspect faces homicide charge

Sacramento police say a man who was assaulted in downtown Sacramento in early November has died from his injuries, prompting a homicide investigation. Officers responded just after 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 1, 2025, to the 2000 block of K Street, where they found an adult male with blunt-force trauma. The victim was taken to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries on Dec. 28, according to the Sacramento Police Department. A 25-year-old Sacramento man who was arrested near the scene and booked on assault-related charges will now face homicide-related charges.
