Kudi Chin (กุฎีจีน) is a small community known for its Catholic community (mainly of Portuguese descendants) around the Santa Cruz Church. It is located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, south of the Bangkok Yai Canal, in Wat Kanlaya sub-district, Thonburi District. Kudi Chin is a historical neighborhood in Bangkok. Communities of several faiths live close to each other in the area dating back to the Ayutthaya period. The area is best known for its Catholic community (mainly of Portuguese descendants) around Santa Cruz Church. Yet, the broader neighborhood also includes the surrounding areas of Wat Kanlayanamit, the Kudi Khao Mosque (Bang Luang Mosque), and the Chinese Kuan An Keng Shrine. Moreover, since 2008, conservation and revitalization efforts have turned the neighborhood into a cultural tourism hotspot.
