Export & Import Proven Machining Strategy - Mastercam Productivity Tech Tip

Toolpath strategies often follow a standard order of operations, such as Rough, Finish, Drill, and Deburr. The individual toolpaths may require customization depending on the type of material, machine or tools used, but what if you could re-use those customized toolpaths quickly and easily? You can with the Export options! Right-click in the toolpath pane and choose Export to select the fully configured toolpaths that you want to re-use from an optimized program, and save them to an operations file. The operations and tools can then be quickly imported into a new project, selecting only the operations needed for this new part. The only additional steps required are chaining the features and confirming the depth or top of stock in the new geometry. Feeds, speeds, stepover, multiple passes, and anything else you have setup for those toolpaths is imported along with the operations file, simplifying the toolpath setup and optimization for similar types of parts.
