Unbelievable Water Bottle Trick for Termites! Simple to do!

Don't spend hundreds or even thousands on termite monitoring stations or termite contracts. You can do the same thing with a disposable water bottle. Please note that one of my subscribers offered a solution to a problem we have had with these monitoring stations. Sometimes, the stick will move out of position, making you think that there are termites when there really aren't any. A simple fix to this problem is to drill a small hole through the plastic into the orange area of the stick and insert a toothpick or tiny finishing nail through the plastic into the stick. Just make sure that the hole in the plastic is a little larger than the toothpick or nail, so that the stick will drop easily into the bottle when the termites eat through it. This way the toothpick or nail will drop into the bottle. You only need to have maybe 1/8 inch sticking up past the surface of the bottle. This is a simple and fast fix for the problem. I should have thought of it myself. Also, sometimes, the bottles will sink into the ground over time, and the grass will grow over them. This can happen if the hole is a little too deep. So, I recommend placing a small disk in the hole under the station before you install them. This should prevent the station from sinking. The disks are very inexpensive, and I have a link below for them. You can also watch my video on the updated design for monitoring stations. Better yet, the new design allows you to also use the stations to apply the bait, so no need for a second bait station.
