This video illustrates the Posterior fixation of Artisan iris claw lens (A Constant: 116.8) for previously vitrectomised eye using anterior chamber infusion maintainer and Alcon Ngenuity 3D heads up viewing system. An easy way to fix an iris claw lens behind the iris to prevent endothelial cell damage/loss. There is still iridodonesis post operative and potential for lens dislocation from the iris long term. One may consider other methods of secondary lens implantation such as scleral fixation by Yamane technique or Carlevale lens which involve a smaller corneal wound. Iris claw lens requires a 6mm wound for insertion and sutures to close. Nevertheless, a good technique to master to correct aphakia.
