FOREIGN POLICY FRONT: An assessment of the country’s foreign policy agenda

It’s over a year since President William Ruto ascended to power, and one priority area for his administration was diplomacy and foreign policy. He has since coming to office made more than 40 trips across the world and received world leaders here in Kenya to project Kenya’s diplomatic and military leverage as an anchor state and gateway into the region. But the president has to navigate a cobweb of competing global interests in an ever-fluid world. So, how has he faired so far? In this report, Ayub Abdikadir sits down with the Principal Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Korir Sing’oei who has been part of the president’s entourage in all his trips, and provides an assessment on the trajectory of the country’s foreign policy, the just ended Kenya defense forces mission in the Democratic Republic Of Congo, the emerging new world order and Kenya’s role.
