London Marathon 2024 a little perspective from an amateur runner 🏃🏻‍♀️ Back story: I decided to try the lottery and to my surprise I got accepted on my first try into the London Marathon. So I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to run it! Training: Was off to a slow start just because I had just ran Chicago Marathon in 2023 and life was going on, but we got it going. Until March where I ended up getting sick and couldn’t really run for 2 weeks. Which that time was so crucial in my training because missing the long runs and just not getting the mileage in I knew I would pay for it in the long run. Race Day!!! Goals: One is to finish the race, two have fun and enjoy all of it, and three to shoot for a 4:30 even though it was a long shot I wanted to see what I could do. Throughout the race I tried to video what I was going through. It was cold and very windy, also there were small sneaky hills that I paid for later on in the race. 5:03:40 official race time 11:30 min/mile
