The U.S. is in the throes of an opioid overdose crisis. Ali Raja, MD, Emergency Medicine Physician at Mass General Brigham, describes the signs of an opioid overdose, and what to do if you think someone may be experiencing an overdose. If someone shows the signs of an overdose, including losing consciousness, slowed or no breathing, and cold or clammy skin, call for emergency help right away. If available, administer Naloxone. Naloxone is a safe medication that can help stop an overdose until help arrives.
