In April 2021, NYU Langone Health’s Community Health Worker Research and Resource Center (CHW-RRC) and Tobacco-Free Community hosted the first of a two-part tobacco prevention series—“Talking about Tobacco Prevention with Community Members”—for community health workers, patient navigators, and other community-facing workers. This first webinar features a presentation by NYU Langone’s Binh Luu, Tobacco-Free Community research coordinator in the Department of Population Health and Erin Rogers, DrPH, MPH, assistant professor in the Department of Population Health. The presentation focuses on tobacco prevention, cessation treatment, and includes a brief overview of motivational interviewing skills for working directly with community members interested in quitting smoking. The presentation was followed by a Q&A moderated by Dina Pimenova, project coordinator of the NYU Langone Health CHW-RRC.
